2008 has come to an end.  I’ve done a good bit of reading this year and have read some really enjoyable books.  Amazon.com has a page on their website titled Best Books of 2008.  They have a list of Top 100 Editor’s Picks, Top 100 Customer Favorites, and Best Book Covers.  I was interested in reviewing the lists to see if I had read any of their favorites.  I was pleased to see that the book I enjoyed the most in 2008, “So Brave, Young and Handsome” by Enger, was #8 on the Top 100 Editor’s Picks.  I would highly recommend reading it.  It is a early 20th Century “western”, “Mark Twain” type story.  There are currently a few copies available on Amazon.com in hardcover and the paperback edition is coming out in early 2009.

Some other books I really enjoyed in 2008 were ”Heartsick” by Chelsea Cain, “Try Dying” by James Scott Bell, ”The Last Lecture” by Randy Pausch, “On Chesil Beach” by Ian McEwan, “The Art Thief” by Noah Charney, “Finn” by John Clinch, “The Translator: A Tribesman’s Memoir of Darfur” by Daoud Hari, and “Grace” by Richard Paul Evans.  Those are just a few of the books I read, but are probably my favorites for the year.  What were your favorite books in 2008?  I would enjoy hearing from you.
