I am a constant book store shopper, both “in-store” and “online”.  I like to keep up with what is really selling and I also like to come across those quiet little books that have made their way on to the book store shelves, but will never be a bestseller (unlesss it is an amazing story like The Shack, which continues to be on the Top 10 of most lists weeks and weeks after it was first self-published).   I am sure you have been quite aware of the “Twilight” series of books by Stephanie Meyers that have been bestsellers for months - and they are written for teenagers.  Well, Jeff Kinney and his “Wimpy Kids” series of books for middle schoolers are creeping onto bestseller lists, too.  On the latest “USA Today” bestseller list Kinney’s Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Last Straw is the new number one bestseller.  See the latest USA Today’s book page for an article on Kinney and the current USA Today Top 150.

I haven’t read any of Jeff Kinney’s books, but I suspect there are a lot of adults out there buying his books if they are shooting to the top of the best seller lists.  I found an interesting article about Jeff Kinney .  It is really the website for Jeff Kinney books.  If you want to learn more about this latest phenonemon, the website would be a great place to start.   Have you read any of the books?  Would love to have your comments!!
