I wrote about this last year, and now the time is approaching again for the annual South Carolina Book Festival in Columbia. I received an email this week from the Humanities Council SC with updated information about the upcoming Festival. The 14th Annual Book Festival will be held February 27 - 28, 2010. All events on those two days are free to the public. On Friday February 26, there will also be some ticketed events, with more details on those events to be forthcoming. The Book Festival will be held again this year at the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center in the Vista area of downtown Columbia. There is plenty of parking and many great restaurants close by to the Convention Center.
The Book Festival already has more than 90 authors scheduled to be present in either solo or panel presentations. There are more than 70 exhibitors scheduled to be selling books and book related items, or having book signings. There will be numerous special ticketed events. For information on the event, including info on how to volunteer to help with the Festival, go to the Festival website at www.scbookfestival.org
Some of the confirmed authors include: Rick Bragg, Dorothea Benton Frank, John Hart, Robert Hicks, Matt and Ted Lee, Jill McCorkle, Sharyn McCrumb, Francis Ray, and many more!
Your financial support of the Book Festival helps to make it the BEST possible event that it can be. Here is the information on becoming a friend of the Festival:
